Lakshmi with Elephants

Call Recording: Lakshmi, Purity and Other Discussion

Mytho-therapy:

Lakshmi’s Appearance and Symbolism Lakshmi in her images and pictures is depicted as a female inform with 4 arms and 4 hands, She usually wears red clothes with a golden lining and is either seated or standing on a lotus. She has golden coins and lotuses in her hands. She is frequently pictured with 2 or 4 elephants next to her.

This symbolism conveys the following spiritual theme:

~ Her 4 arms represent 4 directions in space and signify her omnipresence and omnipotence. The red color of her clothing signifies activity and the golden lining signifies prosperity. The lotus signifies that while living in this world one should enjoy the wealth, but not become obsessed with it.

~ Her 4 hands represent the 4 aims of life: Dharma (righteousness); Kama (genuine desires); Artha (wealth); and Moksha (liberation from birth and death). Her front hands represent activity in the material world, and her back hands represent spiritual activities that lead to spiritual perfection.

~~~   ~~~   ~~~   ~~~   ~~~ ~
Since the right side of the body signifies activity, a lotus in her back right hand signifies that you should perform all duties in accordance to Dharma. This leads to Moksha which is symbolized be the lotus held in her back left hand. The golden coins falling from her front left hand signifies she provides wealth and prosperity for her devotees. Her front right hand bestows Blessings.
~ The 2 elephants pictured beside her signify name and fame that is associated with worldly wealth. The idea portrayed here is that one should not acquire wealth for name and fame and only for one’s self, but share it with to bring happiness to others in addition to himself.
~ Some pictures show 4 elephants spraying water on Lakshmi from Golden Vessels. This illustrates the theme that continuous self-effort in accordance with one’s Dharma, governed by wisdom and purity leads to both material and spiritual prosperity.
Note: Lakshmi does not stay long with anyone who is lazy or seeks her only for material wealth.
Invoke Lakshmi by chanting: OM SHREEM BRZEE
Mantras for invoking Lakshmi for Purity:
Om Sarva Papa Hare (invokes aspect of Lakshmi for dissolving sins, including financial sins)
Harineem (a name of Lakshmi, invoking her in the aspect of Purity)
Mantra for Goal-Orientation: Om Iccha Shakti Uma Kumari (brings energy of authentic desire, especially for people who may not in be in touch with what they really want)
For Narasimha (Lion-faced form of Vishnu) JAYA JAYA NARASIMHAYA NAMAHA
Muruga and Six Temples in Tamil Nadu
Call Recording: Muruga and Other Discussion
Symbolism Associated with Muruga( Healer/Warrior Archetype Who Rules Mars):
Vel, or shakti /spear / lance, is his most powerful weapon. Made by Parvati and given to him to defeat the Asura Soorapadman in battle. The Vel embodies Parvati’s energy and power.
Discus: symbolizes his knowledge of truth
Mace: represents his strength
Javelin: symbolizes his far reaching protection
Bow: represents his ability to overcome all ills
Peacock: His vehicle, signifies Eternal Light, Om, represents the destruction of ego, and symbolizes mastery over space, time, and death
Rooster: Wards off all evil and Negativity, signifies Infinite sound, and adorns his flag.
There is a very powerful debt-busting  mantra for Muruga to dissolve all kinds of debts (personal, credit card, IRS, even the national debt):
Om Sa Ra Va Na Ba Va Ya Ru Na Vee Mo Kshanaya Murugaya Skandaya Swaha
If you recite this mantra 1008 x’s/ day for 40 days, it can set in motion things that will help clear up debts! It is also very beneficial to light a candle or ghee lamp before a picture, or even better yet, a statue or yantra of Muruga, to burn Mars (Tues.) Incense from AstroVed.com, offer flowers, and a small fruit (even a raisin) or nut. If using a statue or yantra, you can also use a red juice for abishekam such as cranberry juice, per Dr. Pillai.
A Gayathri Mantra for Muruga
Om Karthikeyaya Vidh Mahe
Shakti Hastaya Dhi Mahi Tanna Skanda Prachodayat
Goddess Abirami appearing before a priest who was her sincere devotee. He had mistakenly told the king it was a Full Moon day instead of a New Moon day which is what it actually was. The king was going to punish the priest for giving out bad astrological information as this would confuse the people into doing the wrong prayers and rituals on the wrong day. The priest prayed intensely and sang songs to Goddess Abirami.
She appeared before him and took off one of her earrings and threw it up into the sky where it became the Full Moon for that evening to make the priest’s words come true. The king was humbled by the miracle and canceled the punishment and gave the priest the title Abirami Pattar (the priest of Goddess Abirami). The songs have become famous in Tamil literature as Abhirami Anthadhi, a collection of stanzas in which the last one word of one stanza is used as the first word for the next stanza.
A simple mantra for her is
Om Abirami Namaha
Welcome:
This is the recording of our Vedic Astrology Club call which occurred on Saturday March 8, 2014.
Thank you to all the participants and to Rani and Bhairavi, our guest speakers.
In regards to Ganesha mantras, these are all Siddhi Mantras. It is recommended to shower, or wash face and limbs before reciting them. 3 pranayams (rhythmic breathing) is recommended before starting, and a minimum of 108 repetitions done for 48 days at a set hour will yield excellent results. As we establish these sounds within ourselves, we activate these qualities within us as well.
~ GUM GUM GUM – invokes the 1st Avatar of Ganesha, Vakratunda
~ OM GUM GANAPATIYE NAMAHA – invokes Ganesha as a Leader of the Ganas
~ OM SHREEM, HREEM, KLEEM, GLOUM, GUM GANAPATAYE,
VARA VARADA SARVA JANAMME VASHAMAANAYA SWAHA
Dr. Pillai explained that Varada means protector and benefactor for the present times. Shreem, Hreem, and Kleem invoke the Goddesses and their Shakti energy to add to this process.
~ To remove very stubborn obstacles, Dr. Pillai recommends chanting:
OM GHE GHE GHE, KROM KROM KROM, UCCHISTA GANAPATAYE, HASTI PISACHI LIKHE SWAHA
~ Also, Dr. Pillai has mentioned that Ganesha wishes to be worshiped in his primordial Human- faced form for the Golden Age. The Mantra for this form:
OM GUM ADHI GANESHAYA NAMAHA
~ Dr. Pillai advises to visualize Ganesha ascending into your Thalamus  to remove Negative Karma stored in your brain.
This is one of Bhairavi’s favorite mantras for Ganesha: Avatar of Ganesha, Vakratunda
VAKRATUNDA MAHAKAYE Oh Lord of Curved Trunk & Large Body
SURYA KOTE SAMA-PRABHA with the Brilliance of 10 Million Suns,
NIRVIGNUM KURUME DEVA Make my works free of all Obstacles
SARVA KARESHU, SARVADA Always
Dr. Pillai described Ganesha as the Luminous Still Breath, bright as a million suns. He resides at the Muladhara, as well as in the Thalamus, which is the relay station and director for all incoming and outgoing sensory outputs. Dr. Pillai revealed this wonderful mantra and gave an empowerment for it during Ganesha’s Birthday Webcast in 2013.
We use these sounds in the Vedic Astrology Club as part of the opening chants to invoke blessings from enlightened siddha Maharishi Brghu:
—Om Brghu Sadgurave Namaha
Brghu
He is well known for performing fire ceremonies, for teaching Vedic astrology and for being the father of Venus. We ask his blessings to help us succeed with our studies and practice of Vedic astrology. We ask him to help us with remedies.
Dr. Pillai has noted that it is said Brghu also had incarnation as Lao Tzu in the Chinese tradition and as Einstein in the West.
